Irondequoit bay, the river, High Falls, Cobbs Hill, Highland Park. Highland park is gorgeous, although most of the lilacs are probably done blooming, supposidly it is one of the largest collections in the country.

If you want good areas of the city, start around Baush & Lomb tower. Main st and East avenue are probably the two nicest areas downtown. I forget the name of the st, but there are some nice fountains downtown that become an ice skating rink. City hall doesn't look like much from the outside, but is gorgeous on the inside, marble arches, skylights and fountains going up 3-4 stories.

There are a few construction projects downtown, ESL headquarters, and there are a number of apartment and shops being rennovated.

If you park your car and work your way to East ave, you can go all the way over to the area where most of the museums are, and the George Eastman house is. There are plenty of shops/restaurants lined up East ave. Once your over by the George Eastman house, Park ave, one st over has plenty to see also.

Great ideas, thank you. I welcome more. I'm going to want to be in Rochester next week (or the week after) and needed a few ideas. Thanks again.

Oh as a tip, if you do goto Park ave and your driving, go down East ave and park on a side street and walk. There are alot of little shops with people all over and the street is kinda narrow. If you have a significant other, there is a nice chocolate shop in that area. ;-)

Brockport isn't bad either, take rt96 north from rt31 and it goes into a village by the canal, lots of little shops in there.
