Default yum

I just left Rochester after 5 years and really miss some of my favorite restaurants. I'm not sure if any of these were mentioned yet:

South East Asian (SEA) Vietnamese food on Monroe Ave- tiny, warm place with the best pho (soup), fried squid and fried eggrolls. Sooo inexpensive and great service!

Veneto on East Ave- brick oven pizza, pastas, steak specials

Tapas which someone mentioned- the best dessert ever: Bannana Zango!

Jojos in Pittsford- more fine dining, wine

I've never been to 2 Vine, but I hear it's a great upscale place. Here's a link you may find useful, there's a whole "dining" section.

Default Wine Dinners at restaurants in Rochester, NY?

Do any restaurants in the Rochester, NY area have wine dinners featuring wine makers, etc.?

I would be interested in this too. I know there are many wineries around the finger lakes, so there is probably a few around.

I tried a new place the other day. Johns Tex Mex, it is in the plaza on Alexander and South ave. Not authentic, but very good, portions were huge too. Prices were reasonable, I got a burrito almost 4" thick for $6. Different sauces to choose from. The places that look like a hole in the wall always have good food.

Tastings dose a wine pairing with dinner but the waiter/waitress will not kow about the wine let alone the food. If you want to do a nice dinner with NY wines and learn about the wines try the NY Wine & Culinary center in Canadagua . Thats the best I have found here unless you want to come to my place and try some of my 500 bottles of wine in my cellar
