Crime wave hits Fairport; cameras to be installed in the village
Proving again Fairport people are weird:
Crime-spotting cameras to keep eye on Fairport | democratandchronicle.com | Democrat and Chronicle
I find it funny, too, how they have their own police dept. I used to get funny looks from those jerks late at night when I was driving home from work (2-3 in the morning). There's a certain weirdness to law enforcement folks who harass and leer at working people. Oh, that's right, we're all potential criminals.
Too bad they can't keep people from driving into the canal (blasted drunk), or from getting run over by trains (drunk/fighting).[/sarc]
Man, T-Foots and/or Shorts have claimed a few lives in the past few years, eh? Maybe that's where they'll put the cameras (which might be a good thing).

I read about that today. It is weird, especially in a small community like that. You have to justify those union negotiated wages somehow. ;-)
Honestly, why not just park in front of a bar and cite probable cause? Probably because there is a law somewhere.

These cameras only catch crime after the fact. In fairport only minor crimes happen. The fines created will probably not offset the cost of the cameras. They are doing this to appease some stupid soccer moms.

Someone was stabbed in Fairport a few months ago and there are lots of narcotics traffickers in that town.

Yea, a stabbing once in a blue moon doesn't mean much. The drug trade is pretty minor compared to most places.

Been living in Fairport since 2000... interesting place. Someone mentioned T-Foots and Shorts and all I can say is I cannot believe how hammered some of those people are when they drive out of that lot not to mention the shear number of that type of situation. Hell I was there one night and the guy had a PA system on his pickup, he had it all cranked up screaming into it all drunk, and gunning it everywhere... crazy. The few cops that we have are always down patrolling around the Pines (Pines of Perinton) which is another huge problem in this town... its a fairly good sized low cost appartment complex, where there is poverty there is crime.... Seems as if there is as many problems in the pines as there are on the north side of the city.

Didnt the last stabbing there involve a nice White townie stabbing one of the Pines residence?
Yep, sure did. Nice clean looking youth from a private single family home off 31 near the Wegmans.

I remember...did the whole story behind it ever come out about that? I was torn between the townie trying to steal some things from the kid, to fighting over a girl, or since it is Fairport, maybe the Pines residence tried to sit on the kid's BMW that daddy bought him so he knifed him

When I moved into my house on the canal (Roselawn Ave.) I knew the trains would be noisy, which doesn't bother me much. I just couldn't believe the noise from the two saloons several blocks away.
Hung out at T-Foots maybe twice in the 3 years I lived in Fairport, and walked out both times (lots of weirdos and jerks), and went to Shorts on a Sun. afternoon once to watch football. Maddy's was more my speed, or even MacGregor's on 31 in Macedon.
I'm just surprised people in the village put up with those two saloons. Fairport Pub or whatever it's called is another decent place.
