I wanted to get some information on teaching in the Rochester, NY area. What is the average pay for a teacher? I live and work in NYC, have a masters and have taught for 3 years now (I am on my fourth now.) I went to University of Rochester as an undergrad and so I am slightly familiar with the area, please let me know. I want to know if the cost of living and the income will be doable.

the average pay for teachers in Monroe County is $52,927 as for 2007-2008. It also states that the highest salary for a teacher in the county is $123,467 during that same year. I'd say that you can live well in Monroe County with that salary. They also have the average for every district in the state too.
