Can anyone share information on the best places to live in Wayne county? How close is Rochester to these places. I also hear that Wayne county has lower taxes than Rochester area. Is this true? What would you rate Wayne county on ascale of 1-1o on location, schools, medical care, colleges, crime, and proximity to Rochester and all it offers?

Many Thanks

If I was going to live in Wayne County I would aim for Walworth (Penfield Schools), Walworth Gananda Schools, Macedon, and then Palmyra (Palmyra last only because it is further from Monroe County and a lot of shopping/Medical facilities/jobs/ the usual day to day...just farther)... in that order. I would stay away from Lyons and Newark as they are a bit rough around the edges and the schools are not as good. I have not heard wonderful things about the Sodus School System either. Ontairo I have to say I have only heard good things from staff and students....it might be worth looking into those schools- I do have friends who teach there and they love working there (that actually says a lot about how the environment would be).

Good luck....
