Black folks
Are Black folks welcomed in Greece? What is the Black populace in Greece and other areas around Greece, like Newark Village? Other words, if you were a Black person moving to Rochester what areas are nice and Black friendly? Are there any racial issues?
What is the commute from NYC to Greece? MapQuest says 6 hours..

I am not black, so I can only offer my opinion, but I believe that Greece is probably the most diverse of the suburbs and I don't think you would have any problems. Sometimes in these areas you run into some people from a different background, typically seniors in my experience, who have lived there for 50 years and don't deal well with change happening around them, but I think that is rare I believe, but I don't have to live with that problem, so it is hard for me to say.
I would say the 6 hour commute is valid depending on where in NYC you are going. I take the Tapanzee or the GW bridge depending on where I am going and the respective Interstates from there.

Well, I live in Greece and though we have the highest black population of the suburbs, still only 2.5% of the population is black...it's just that Greece with almost 100k people is by far the largest suburb. I'd imagine the most diverse suburb would be either Brighton or Henrietta. Though don't be afraid of moving to Greece! There are 2 black families in my neighborhood that I know of and as far as I know they don't have any problems. If you are in a newer neighborhood with more young families and couples it probably wouldn't be an issue. Some of the older neighborhoods with more older boomers/elderly folks might not be as welcoming though

You should be fine in Greece. Like others have said, it is probably one of the more "diverse" suburbs in the Rochester area. As a point of reference, the western suburbs of Rochester are more "diverse" than the Eastern suburbs. If you go by schools districts in the suburbs in terms of "diversity", I would say that Rush-Henrietta, Brighton, East Irondequoit, Greece, Gates-Chili, West Irondequoit and Wheatland Chili are up there in terms of percentages. One thing I noticed about Rochester though is that Black people live throughout the suburbs there, with varing degrees, of course.

Nobody really cares about race minus a small amount of people that you'd find in any other city. As long as you keep up your property, nobody gives a damn.

yeah..ok Conrad. Considering that Greece's population is only 2% black in the first place; it makes pretty logical sense that the school administrative staff is only 2% black as well. Nice try though. At least you've not made any obscene or vulgar remarks yet!

As fara as living there if you have children, there are quite few Black students there. Test Scores for Greece Central School District | GreatSchools As you can see, that 10% of the students in that district are Black.

Can you name some of the things they might do?
Prince, what's going on with the PD? Do they target Black people?

They wouldn't "do" anything...that's the point. They would pretty much just ignore you and not acknowledge you exist. Racist for sure; but you wouldn't really have to worry about "hate crimes". They just, as I said..wouldn't be welcoming; so it's not really "putting it mildly" at all. We have a bit of a troll problem on this forum as you will soon see until said troll gets banned again; so take the "that's putting it mildly" comment with a grain of salt.
And like I said, its mostly in the older generations. A young black family should have no problems being a part of a mostly white neighborhood with other young families.
