We are thawed out now but a lot of stuff was closed. We had two smaller storms the previous week (first part we had I think around 8 inches the end we got about 10 inches, which is quite a bit for our area). Now everything is muddy. In our area we tend to get ice or a combination of ice then snow. We also had record lows here, it got down to -17 (which is now the record)...we just aren't use to or prepared for that kind of weather. Next year we will probably end up having a 70 degree Christmas.
LOL no - But right now I live in GA and it's just too hot for me most of the year, I've been trying to move but the real estate market tanked so I'm stuck in the heat and humdity. There is only a few months of the year that I'm comfortable and I was hoping for a bit more winter before the blast furnace sticky heat.
It's been an awful winter here in central ny. Today I see some sun but one never know what will happen next, we are still in the early part of March. I can't wait for spring and a very hot summer.

Ouch, so sorry that you Southern folks had such a rough winter.
We had snow almost every day for the months of December and January, and early February. The ground was always white. We were given a teaser last week - some nice warm sunny days in the 40's. The crocuses were coming up and I started to buy my seeds and measure off my garden plots. Then early Friday morning, wouldn't you know it - 6 inches of snow and they closed school (I work for a school district). Our school district seldom closes due to snow, but there are a lot of country roads around here that are impassable when there is drifting. We've had 3 snow days this winter, which is a record in all the years we've lived here.
I am thinking I would love that. Half a year in the Mountains half a year someplace warm and pleasant.
