What a bad year for fleece. I just sheared my sheep and my Coradales typically yield 13 pounds per sheep, this year they averaged 7.6 pounds. One issue was the fed quality, it was high at 18% protein content, but protein makes the wool course and light, and pretty much ruins it. Its pretty discouraging because the cost of shearing went up too, $6 per sheep and $25 dollars for a farm call. I'll make about $2.20 for the wool, per sheep.

Oh well, besides shearing them, we dewormed them, trimmed their hooves, inoculated them, and weaned the lambs; so overall it was a very BUSY day on the farm today.
