The meat in the freezer has the name of the farm it comes from, right on the steaks. And it is just down the road a bit. Fresh pork, and they will take your name for a duck, turkey or goose for the holidays.

The veggies and fruit are not all uniform, they are a bit misshapen...but they put the name of the grower right on it.

And that is next to the horse tackle. Right by the salt licks.

You can get a hand cut bologna sandwich at the back counter (white bread only choice).

You go to the store on a cool crisp fall day and see two of the regular customers are playing checkers by the pot belly stove. Candy jars on the counter by the cash register. Prize winning relish for sale in Mason jars. Hitching post out front even though nobody in town is Amish. Apple and pickle barrels.

Of course upstairs in his studio, Norman Rockwell is working on his latest drawing for "The Saturday Evening Post".

Bait of all kinds(crickets, nightcrawlers, crawdads, leaf worms, wax worms)....ammo for popular calibers....lanterns and fluid....LP gas outside....fishing tackle....knives, groceries, beef jerky etc..etc..

Before Wal-Mart came about 10 miles away....that was closer. It still is for when you are in a hurry or headed to the lake, and it's on the way.

Our hardware store sells bed linens, towels, and kitchen accessories on the next aisle over from the garden supplies, and has a separate section with fishing tackle, guns, and camping gear.

Both an old cat and an old dog are wandering around the place. They live there. Just showed up one day, and decided this was their home. And everyone is okay with that.
