Glue boards are great. They're cheap and last a long time. I cut them in four and put them inside the house on both sides of each entry door, and also in out of the way places like behind the toilets.
That, plus black lighting are effective. When black lighting I carry a can of spray. Ant/roach spray works on them, and there's also stuff specifically marketed for killing scorpions.
Having an exterminator come regularly is a good idea if you have roaches, crickets, etc around. But the residual spray does not kill scorpions. It kills their prey, which in theory should reduce their numbers.
