We live on a one lane road on the west side of Oakridge. We noticed for quite a few years that some drivers fly through this this short street at 35 to 50 mph. According to what I read, a one lane street with no side walks should be 15 mph. I finally got tired of it and talked to the Police to see if they could do more patrols. Previously, it had been about 1 a day at best. Now it's 3 to 4 and I think it has made a difference, so kudos to the Police!
Good.
A lot of times the local police don't know when these things are happening unless someone tells them. Unfortunately the vast majority of people will ***** and moan for hours but not take five minutes to call an issue in.
I didn't even call. The Police station is about 10 minutes away. I talked to them in person. As an added plus, the worst offenders have a pending offer on their place. Hopefully the new owners won't be in such a damn hurry!
We meant to travel to Oakridge when searching for a home but never made it. I hear the Mountain Biking is GREAT but certain roads in the winter, are not.
