You might be a redneck if..................

You rush home from work on a Friday afternoon to get in some 'bonding time' with your pet chickens. LOL!!!

They're all so social. As soon as you sit in the chair they are all over you. It's certainly going to make the 4th of July picnic with the neighbor interesting!! Of course I had to send the pictures to my mother who is a major snob, just to rub in the fact that her daughter is nothing like her!

I just thought it was neat. I've always wanted chickens - spent 5 years torturing hubby. Finally talked him into letting me get little day old chickens and raising them. He probably didn't think they'd survive. But they're old enough now - 4 weeks - to be outside so we sectioned off a part of the back yard for them. Unfortunately it's where the deck is going, so we're kind of sharing the back yard right now. But as soon as you sit down they are all over you. I just think it's neat. Hey - I grew up on a super tiny island. We didn't have cool animals there!!!

My idea when we bought up here (middle TN) was to some day have a farm and live off the land. I have a feeling we'll wind up with pet chickens, pet cows, pet pigs, etc.

Thanks! I love my chickens. The neighbors asked how many we'd save for breeding and egg laying. Save, huh?? All of them, of course! What could he possibly mean?? Oh................ No thanks. Don't have it in me. Everyone keeps laughing at me because regardless of what kind of animal it is, it has a home. Cows - great pets. Pigs - wonderful pets!! Yep, I fail at being a farmer.
