I saw it the first 5 seconds looking at the picture. Man! I can spot a snake a mile away! I'm so scared of them, that they are easy for me to see.

Found it pretty quickly. SW Missouri has a lot of them. Contrary to what you may hear, you CAN smell them if you scare them.

I didn't see it; but I saw many in Oklahoma. I thought they were a beneficial snake?

I found it but only because I knew there must have been one there. Walking in the woods I would never have seen it.

I guess all snakes are "beneficial" in that they help keep the rodent population down.

But copperheads are poisonous so most people don't want them around their houses. They also are not as "polite" as rattlers who usually will at least let you know they're around...

We need a snake(other than Obama) to keep the illegal immigration population down.

Same here. We lived in the woods of SE Missouri (Southern part of Texas County) for a couple of years and saw Copperheads frequently.

They are 'protected' by law in Missouri (or were when we lived there), but a lot of them ended up as beautiful belts and wallets - probably due to all the lead poisoning in the area.

I spotted it.

I guess all that time sitting in on my older brothers' Boy Scouts meetings really paid off.
