If you'd been reading for comprehension instead of reacting out of your anti-dog prejudice, you'd have noticed that both Driller and I DO keep our dogs on our acres, and that when I was in town, I DID keep my dog in my yard. That's not the issue. The issue is whether people who have an anti-dog prejudice are competent to determine whether or not a dog is attacking and whether they should be expected to pay the consequences for their own actions if they decide a dog that is NOT attacking, is and take after it with a baseball bat and, if its owner objects, do the same to the owner.

If driller had turned in those 2 ,the fine would have been quite small.

I actually don't believe a word of Driller's story cuz nobody would drop a $400 + hunting rifle and leave.
The fine for trespassing while hunting is not that steep
They were felons. The last thing they wanted was to see the cops.

100% agreed!! Going after a dog with a bat could cause an attack!!!

I would think a good citizen, upon catching --felons-- hunting on their property, would want to turn them into the law authorities.

( rather than telling them to just leave)

I believe it is against the law for felons to own or possess firearms.

On what actual grounds do you doubt Driller's story? Other than that it doesn't support your particular agenda?

The story didn't change, by the way, it simply was fleshed out a bit. There is a difference.

How long should someone wait too decide if it's an attack or not? should we wait until we get ripped open before something is done? I don't think so.
Anyone or may be I should say most anyone can tell the deference between a dog all happy coming out too say hi and one that is on the attack. not that either one should be out on the loose. If if feel threaten it will be whacked or shot without hesitating. And I will not be trespassing I will be on a public road or park Ect.
