I will say IF a person hooks into city water, ther are laws about well abandonment.
I agree with these laws.
Me too open wells can be deadly to wildlife and people . But this about the right to keep your wells . We have never had to boil our well water , yet those in the city are warned now and then to not drink the water unless it's boiled.

If there in the city, likely so. It is the townships that can be fought.
IMO, no one should ever have city water without city sewers because of aquifer contamination. Unless the city water is well water.
There's Western states where you don't own the water rights to the water under or on your land. CO is a well known example, you can't even legally collect rainwater there.

I don't see it happening but we need to tke back our rights from these leaders . Not just dems either but all of them need to be voted out .
Where I live, I've known people who do hook up because they are forced to, but have it plumbed to only run their clothes washer or outside hose or to one faucet. The county can make you hook up, but they cannot make you use it.

Mandated hookups by the bonding agency, usually in concert with the state's Department of the Environment, especially in an area where the individual wells are failing or having other problems. If there's central sewer the operators there want a standard water source.
In a Town or Water/Sewer district is it's mandated by code.
The County I live in is mandating new developments above a certain size have central water and sewer built by the developer and then turned over to the County.
