I'm not a big country guy, but last Sunday KNCI hosted their annual Concert in the Park, this time on Capitol Mall, in between the Tower Bridge and the Capitol itself.

Capitol Mall went from state ownership to city ownership a couple of years ago, and it seems like the least expensive but most effective thing they came up to do with Capitol Mall was to start having big events there--the Pride Festival, Amgen bike race, and a weekly Thursday farmer's market, all taking place in the street median. It seems like a good use of the space, especially on the weekends when there is very minimal traffic, and no "neighbors" to bother.
