Default high schools in sac

Hi all,

Husband and I are thinking of relocating in the Sacramento area from Houston. I am bringing my high school freshman who at the moment is into marching band. Anyone know anything about local high schools and music programs? Is high school marching popular out there ?

Thanks

shar

Shar,

There is a website that has every school district and the student body population: http://www.publicschoolsreport.com/district.html
While this may not have the info about the programs offered it will at least give you the school districts, locations, sizes, demographics, etc.

Default High Schools

Not sure about most of the high schools regarding marching bands, but Del Oro high school in Placer County has won many awards for their band. There are several nice high schools including Elk Grove, Rio Americana, Del Campo, Mira Loma, Folsom, San Juan, and many others. High schools in the older areas of Sacramento, such as Hiram Johnson, Luther Burbank, etc. are way too large and over crowded. Most of the school districts have Web sites that will have a lot of information. You can also check the CA Dept. of Education Web site at: www.cde.ca.gov.
