Default Website that lists property tax rates statewide?

Is there a website that lists or compares property taxes statewide? Thanks.....not buying, but someone told me that taxes in Nevada County are the highest in the nation, and I don't really believe that.

Property tax rates in all of California are assessed at 1% of market value. There are some local taxes in some areas where the voters approved the additional tax. This is not necessarily a county by county thing, but can differ by school district, water district, or any other defined zone. So, to answer your question, you have to inquire by address to get the exact rate. Usually the county assessor's webpage is a good place to start.

Also, title companies have access to information on extra assesments and mello-roos.

New Jersey leads the way in property tax rates.

We have a property in Nevada county and it is certainly higher tax rate than El Dorado Hills. It's in Truckee and there are a lot of specific city taxes that are added on to the 1% standard property tax rate. The closer you get to Lake Tahoe, the higher the taxes get. I would think there are plenty of cities in Nevada county that do not have as high a tax rate. Back to what the others said, you have to research each property specifically (with a title company or tax assessors office) to get the tax. Even neighbors can pay different amounts depending on if a Mella Roo bond was paid off by a previous owner, or even the developer.
