Thank you for all your wonderful help, I know there is a lot to consider in this move and I know my daughter will be going to college in Sacramento and I will probably work in Sacramento. I just would like to have a safe, nice place to come home to and live. I would like to live around the area for a year before thinking of buying. We had planned to retire up in Nevada City, CA or Chico, then my beloved husband passed away at young age in 2001, so I moved out of CA, because it tore my heart to pieces. I heard good things about Cameran Park and thought that would be a nice area, but my daugther has been telling me that we should live close to the college and I look for work around that area. I am still interested in checking everything out, we hope to move before fall of 2008. Yenoh

Avoid rush hour on the 50 freeway if you can. If you can carpool-the carpool lane saves a lot of time. Light rail and the bus are great options as well since parking is a pain in downtown Sacramento. I used to live up that way until I moved down to southern California about a year and a half ago-can't wait to leave!

You might also want to look at Rescue and El Dorado Hills. There are also some small towns in Amador County that are within commuting distance of Sacramento and offer a nice small town feel if that's what you're looking for.

I would probably use the light rail if it will work with my schedule. Is it Southern Cal that you cannot wait to leave from? I will look at these other places too. Thanks! Yenoh
