Default I love sacramento!

As of 2/5/11 the weather is amazing. In Anatolia I can see a beautiful view of downtown with mountains on the horizon. I can see a clear view of folsom and the best part is the Sierra nevadas visible in the background and they look beautiful. 916 for life!

Weather has been remarkable (I won't comment on the lack of rain the past 5 weeks, oops, think I just did).

Stuff should be blooming in another few weeks too.

Yes, today was indeed awesome. Went to check out the railroad museum and Sac history museum. The weather was perfect, took a walk through midtown and east Sac. Had dinner at Biba's, then watched a movie at Crest theater. When we came out from the movie at 10:30PM, that block of K street was PACKED. It really felt like San Francisco. I can just imagine when they finally redevelop the 700 block of K Street, that entire area would just come alive. Days like this I really feel like Sacramento is an up and coming city. Just a couple months ago, that block would've been a ghost town after 5 and now its the most happening place in the city.

I was skepctical of the new places on K street (I'm skecptical of anything that's not at least 30 floors) but I must admit so far that block of K street as been a success.

Studio 30/Dive Bar/that pizza place (forgot the name) and cosmopolitan/social night club now has the drawing crowd comparable to 20th and K midtown and 15th and L.

If a few more places open up on that or nearby blocks K street could surpass anywhere in midtown.

Hold on to your hat then--in addition to the places that were already there getting more attention and business (Pyramid, the Crest, Marilyn's on K, Temple Coffee, Scandal/Grange inside the Citizen Hotel, etc.) in the next few months Ambrosia Cafe at 11th and K will start saying open and featuring live bands (the way their predecessor Espresso Metro used to) and Mayahuel, a Mexican restaurant and "tequila museum," will open on 12th and K. The 500 seat music venue and other projects on the 700 block of K are probably at least a year or two off.

In the long run, I see a lot of Midtown nightclub/bar/music venue business moving west into downtown--Midtown is turning into more of a theater/restaurant district.
