I have had my eye on the sacramento area for years. I live in Bellevue Washington................its cold, dreary, dark, oppressive and rains ALOT! And besides...............all the californians have moved up here and driven the cost of housing through the roof.................half a million will buy you a rambler..............its insane. Californians love it here...............Im done. I am ready for nice warm hot beaches............Sierras would be beautiful. I am interested in the surrounding areas of sacramento or the santa barbara area. Rents average 1500 for a small two bedroom apartment in Bellevue.............of course I live a block from Microsoft. I am just so done with the weather and cost of living here.

Any advice on sacramento would be nice

I would stay out of Sacramento, The housing market is really bad, prices have gone up because of the people moving here from the Bay area and LA there are a lot of drugs, road rage, smog. you have kids and the schools are trying but just not there yet, constant bickering with the school boards, i could go on and on but we are hoping to move out of State, just have not found the place yet, thinking about Texas

Wyld, you might want a more specific new topic with assistance on Sacramento. Sacramento is very different than Santa Barbara. Pricing is a lot less here than down there but still pricey. We have had a lot of influx of people from the Bay Area and really all over that have driven housing prices her as well.

Sacramento is great in that it is midway between SF and Reno. That has always been one of the things that I have always loved about this area. I will miss it!
