You have an opinion. There are people everywhere that don't feel the need to know everything about everything all the time. Sacramento is a city of suburbs really and happens to be the state capitol. I don't think you will have anyone here say that it is anything else.

Now does that mean that it can't improve or do more things to be a growing and vibrant city? Absolutely, it definately can be improved upon and I think that is where I stated in a previous post...its called "putting your money where you mouth is". Don't just whine, do something about it. I was a business owner for many years and I loved making my little world better for my employees and their families.

I don't even live in Sacramento anymore, but it has a very special place in my heart. Now I live in another "cowtown" Fort Worth

Hi Yellowbird,

I just moved from Sac to Seattle but really miss my fab hairdresser from midtown Sac. Look up Jenn at Thea salon - she's great

I lived in Olympia WA for about 10 years. It's great! Green, Green Green and cheap too. Great mix of people but very white (although it is getting better). You can find houses there from 140K up. Very friendly people, safe, lots of stunning scenery but not as much sunshine. The air smells like sea and Cedar.
If you want to know more, check out Thurston County's website.

ME ME ME!!! I'm jumping on the bandwagon! Actually, we visited the Raleigh, NC area with some friends in the Summer of '05 and fell in love with it. We went back for another visit in December '05 (to find out why we couldn't seem to ''shake'' it) and then again in January of this year. Still love it. The biggest thing holding us back right now is a job for my hubby. He received his Master's in Theology last June, and has a fabulous job at a large church in Roseville. Kinda tough to leave that. We've both lived here all of our lives, but to tell you the truth... I'm totally disenchanted with California now. Yes, the weather can be spectacular, but the politics, education, housing cost, etc., are driving me crazy. We sold our home last August and are renting now, just waiting for the right time to make the move.

By the way, for anybody wanting to find out where they should live, I suggest taking a VERY FUN test that will give you the top 24 cities that most closely match what you say you're looking for (based on your answers to the test). You can find it at www.****.com. I highly recommend it!
