[quote=CityGirl72;4793668]Minx

The only thing that's different up here in WA, is everyone IS friendly but on the average usually keep to themselves...I think they all hole up in their houses once Fall weather (see that as 50 degrees) hits. As a Calif it just takes a little more work to meet people and really be open, because you have to come to them.

I agree with the Seattle comment. As much as I loved my few years there the only thing that bugged me was how withdrawn the people there were. They were pleasant yet they kept to themselves. Many have said that their personality is as cold and dreary as the climate. I really think that climate plays a HUGE role in people's behavior. Growing up in L.A. I recall the studies on how people would become more agitated and violent when the Santa Ana winds would kick up. Something about the offshore winds facilitating discomfort and mental instability where an onshore flow (the salt content of the sea breeze) creates a sense of well being and safety which moderates behavior. That could also apply to Sacramento when we get a rush of the Delta Breeze. Most people just feel better physically and emotionally in contrast to the typical 105 degree summer day with ozone levels shooting through the roof.

califorina- i wish i can go there back... but i can't. i can't afford house all. :-(
I am from LA County, CA and was considering a move to Oklahoma. I was thinking of Broken Arrow near Tulsa. What was it about Tulsa that sucked? Was it the wide open spaces and low cost of living (LOL!).

Default I love California

I love California, but I hate their government and want to revolt against it! They make me sick because they send the CHP out to fine people for crap laws! And all they can do is come up with more stupid laws to fix the problem they created with the original stupid laws they voted for. This state is beautiful but really screwed up politically.

Not just the high cost of living. They want a change of scenery, American values, nature, wide open spaces, friendly people, fresh air and more conservative politics. Or, does this belong on a different thread?

I really get tired of some of the left field posts about Sacramento weather.

"contrast to the typical 105 degree summer day" (in Sacramento)

Here's 2008 summer's numbers so far folks...

May average high/low 82/55
June average high/low 90/58
July average high/low 93/61
August average high/low (so far) 94/60

We've had 2 days of 100 or higher in May, 2 days of 100 or higher in June, 4 days of 100 or higher in July and 1 day of 100 or higher in August so far.

The two HOTTEST days all summer were 107 and 106. So this nonsense about 105 being anything close to "typical" summer day is absurd. If you want "typical" summer weather here, then look at those monthly averages above.

It's a HEAT WAVE here in Seattle...it's suppose to be 88 today! WATCH OUT! There are actually a bunch of weather alerts/advisory warnings

And article today said that Seattle in an average year gets 25 days of over 80 degrees.

it totally sucks here
