fellow californian's
Hi - well I lived in Sac and loved it .. moved back to the Midwest in 1995 and have bought a home here, 3 bedroom for 89,000. could not touch that in Ca. But alas, I know what you mean, California is a special place. In 3 years i would love to head back west, only this time to Oregon. Best of luck in your decision!! Marci

We keep talking about moving away from California (as evidenced by my username here), but the bottom line is, California has things that other places don't, and I don't want to lose those things. So, we'll keep trying to make it work here. This is my home, I love it here and I will do my best not to leave it.

Ive been in CA all of my 45 years. Grew up in LA, moved to Sacto area in my late 20's. I love CA but am growing tired of the traffic, politics, rules and laws and and and.... my family and I are thinking about moving out. Mom already moved to southern OK last year, I wont be following her there but possibly Tulsa or maybe Denver area. Outside of a city but near enough to enjoy the downtown. Some place a little slower but not so slow that they cant keep up with me. I dont know yet........

Well, I'm struggling with the thought of leaving California. I am native, as is my whole family. My grandfathers family can be traced to a tribe of indians in Southern California generations ago. This is our home, but it has changed and has become difficult for my husband and I to think of living here after he retires.
We have our children in a private school because we became so disappointed with the public school system. We live in an agricultural county where there is an abundance of illegal immigrants who have flooded our community and we are starting to feel like the minority ourselves.
There are wonderful parts of California that we have visited, but there is no way we can afford to live there. We currently live in the Central Coast and I grew up in the San Jose area while my husbands family is in Irvine area.
We have 4 years until we have to make a concrete decision. Until then, we plan on looking at Colorado. I have family on my dad's side there, so we'll have some family close by.

Wow, thank you so much. This is a great idea. I have flown to Cali three times this year for interviews and job searches...this will help tremendously! Know any place that is hiring? I have twelve years clerical/administrative experience with a strong background in customer service and computer applications...?
Thank you again.

To Charles and thetalentedmisterdiamonte--Thank you so much for both of these pieces of information. I had no idea about the Vonage phone number until a friend of mine confirmed that this can be done!! You both rock.

]Hey ya Gal; Move now or rent,
Wait another 3 years to move back to own in Calif. by then the RE prices will be down another 40% ( and know RE prices arent coming back) and you can buy right in Placerville , Auburn, Sonora , or anywhere in the Motherlode area.
I love the beautiful Oaks and the American River, **** 8, Coloma, Ive been all over the world and the Motherlode is the most serene in the world. How bout 40 acres in Georgetown for $30,000 in the year 2013?
THERES NO MORE MONEY TO BORROW???? OR LENDERS!!!!
California will crash so hard it will astound anyone. Anyone holding onto any home is crazy... and for the ones holding any mortgage will get burried-- CALIFORNIA is not sustainable anymore--, The Retirees are leaving -- lower wage earners cannot pick up the slack.
How many more billion$ can the State bond out and borrow? You dont have a conundrum whether to leave but where to leave too. Good Luck and get off the Tiitanic before you lose it All......
Where to go? Focus on your employeement strengths, find that market, family, weather, practicality. But sell fast and rent NOW ,,,,
THE BUBBLE HAS BURST!!!!!!!!!

Hey GLS; Happy New year! we've decided to turn our depression into action and anger. We got hammered and now we have a positive attitude in order to overcome. Luckily we sold and have bookoo cash and the world is open, even thinking of Greece as a 2nd place. haaha,,,, Its not to late yet Brah, instead of getting depressed get mad and act on it... Our New Years Resolution is NOT BE DEPRESSED ANYMORE.
Its time to let go and LIVE AGAIN--- Love , Mrs. MM
