Hello all!

This is my first post but will certainly not be my last! I am looking to move to the Sacramento area in the next 6 to 8 weeks and am just looking for any help. I am trying to get by on $350-650 a month after everything is paid. I am willing to share a place but not a room. I am even looking into renting and then trying to find a housemate to fill it out. Basically, I am looking for ANYTHING advice wise, help wise, someone else moving there, etc... any comment is a good comment!

A lot of the homes in metro Sacramento are owned by investors, and some of them rent out rooms in their investment properties.

Search sites such as Craigslist and I'm sure you'll find quite a few options.

Is that $650 a month post-bills, or are you looking for places that are $650 a month to rent?

If you're looking to live in the midtown area, I've found that a lot of property management companies will lease single rooms in your price range. There are also CADA apartments: CADA - Rental Listings (http://www.cadanet.org/index.php/apartments/rental-listings - broken link)

Your best bet is CADA. They own a lot of government buildings midtown and the price depends on how much you earn.

Its a pseudo-government agency for affordable living so if you earn below the median salary you can get nice apartments at a fraction of the market value. Also, most apartment complexes can rent to you at a lower price if you meet a means-tested requirement.

I used to live near Freemont park. Cost $1500 + parking for a 2Br apartment. If I earnt 25% below the median salary I would have only paid $750.
