I, too, would stay away from Citrus Heights and Rancho Cordova. My daughter attends college in Sacto and we've ridden the Light Rail with her too and from where she lives and I've seen people get off/on in those locations that even scared me.

It really varies. But I would say that the Anatolia area of Rancho Cordova and the area near Gold River is ok. Also, the areas of Citrus heights East of 80 and by Antelope are ok.

"El Dorado Freeway"? Never heard it called that. I'd pick La Riviera over Norwood.

Any particular reason La Riviera over Norwood?

"El Dorado Fwy" is just what Google Maps has that section of I-80 listed as.

La Riviera is close to the American River and public transit, generally a kinda quiet neighborhood but a lot of college students so lots of apartments, Norwood is part of the general North Sac/Del Paso Heights area which doesn't have a very good reputation. I imagine some parts are nicer than others, but not knowing where they are, safer to go with La Riviera.

We just call it I-80 here.

Is the Taylor Street Park known for being dangerous at night?
