You're looking for a rural area within a major city?

There are plenty of places outside Rio Linda north to Yuba City and Marysville.

South and east of I-5 between Elk Grove and Stockton, and of course, south of Rancho Cordova.

The Motherlode has a log of very rural places between the towns along Hwy 49.

Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, Rescue, Latrobe, Loomis, Jackson, Plymouth...all a bit of a drive to downtown but rural areas don't tend to be near downtown :-)

Default rural areas

what about Rio Oso, Wheatland Robbins Sheridan Nicolaus Dunnigan its close to Davis for work. Any feedback on weather is it in a flood area? Are there 1 acre lots with trees secluded? How is the drive to either Davis or Sacramento? Prices for homes under 200K?

Nicolaus is next to the Feather River. They are subject to flooding. The town itself is small but the area to the northeast of it is the same area I referred to that is located between Rio Linda and Marysville/Yuba City.

Wheatland is a small town. It appears to be OK to me. Sheridan up the road doesn't look bad to me, but I've been told there is a meth problem. I don't know if there is or if people assume that because it is rural, or if there was a drug bust years ago and people keep repeating the story.

Dunnigan is more or less a disorganized group of houses along US-99E, which has been bypassed by I-5. It too is subject to flooding.

Checkout Plymouth City of Plymouth of California - a nice little town about 45 minutes from Sacramento on Hwy 16.

Look in placer county just 30 minutes from Sacramento. Loomis, Penryn, Granite Bay, Auburn are all beautiful areas in the foothills where you can buy acreage.
