kiwilover70, where did you live in upstate NY? I'm from central NY, the Finger Lakes area, and while beautiful in summer and fall, the winters are too hellish for me to ever consider moving back. I left when I was a kid, so to me winters just meant snow days off from school, sledding, skating, etc. You don't realize how difficult it is to deal with that kind of weather as an adult.

Default Question about move to Sacramento

Hi all,

I have lived in Fresno for 15 years, then 3 years ago, moved to the Midwest to "broaden my horizons" where I also have family, and where it is so much cheaper to live. Well, it was not for me, so now I am moving back to Fresno. I'm not crazy about Fresno, but it is sort of home base for me. I have decided that Sac may be a better fit for me. I am a single, professional female with a graduate degree. I will live in Fresno while I search for jobs in Sac. I have a temporary job to sustain me while I do this. Can you all tell me what the job market is like? Is it really that bad?? I had this idea that because Sac is closer to the Bay Area, you sort of get that influence...professionally, culturally, etc. Housing seems reasonable, maybe a bit higher than Fresno, but not too much. I'm just ready for a new change, to another city on CA.

Thanks so much, sorry for being long winded
