9 shooting victims keep Sacramento police busy - Sacramento City News - sacbee.com

Honestly. WTF. It's all in South Sac and Del Paso Heights. This is why I have PURE HATRED for ghetto people and all things ghetto.

MOD CUT.

You get very angy when Sacramento and environs are looked upon askance yet you can't separate it from those areas and incidents like this.

I find it truly disturbing since we still have children and grandchildren there and it was nowhere near as bad when we lived there; especially not well over a decade ago, although it was inching its way up by leaps and bounds. I truly wish those things were heading in the opposite direction. Sadly, I think the economy, or lack thereof, has a great deal to do with it.

But, hey! It can't be all bad. The Senate still hands out raises to its favored employees.

I grew up in a part of the north area that was poor poor poor. But we never knew it because we all played outside every day, and helped sweep the sidewalks and make sure the street looked nice.

Now I drive through there and there's garbage and crap everywhere and I hear "well, they don't have much money so you can't expect it to look nice."

I don't think the economy has anything to do with being able to put trash in the trash can.

I think our society has lost or discounted the expectation of morals and values--"its not my fault, my welfare check isn't big enough for me to care."

Yep! This is why people who have the financial means to move get the hell outta these places when those types of people move in.

Now this is something to be disgusted with, not city street design.

For what? For the origins of this country and every meaningful advancement in social infrastructure to benefit its citizens (including even you, of course)?
Well, you're very welcome, Dawg ... nice of you to notice.

Stir, stir, stir! This is about Sacramento where I doubt you've ever lived, not about the origins of the country.

Right. I never lived in Sacramento. The Delta, yes. Sac, no.
But the comment holds true for Sacramento, as well ... as it does for everywhere. You're welcome

Opinions vary.

Nothing in the great society programs help me out.
