Happy (almost) New Year!

We have AT&T for our cell phones, and hate it. It was good where we lived in WA, but it's just terrible here (we are in Rocklin). It seems as though Verizon is the way to go, but I was wondering how T-Mobile does in this area. I found some old reviews on it, but am looking for some more recent experiences, as T-Mobile claims that they have increased their service in the area.

I'm in Rocklin, and commute up to Marysville (for Beale AFB). I am mainly concerned about the data connection/speeds. I dont feel like I get that many dropped calls on AT&T, but my wife does. I hate how terrible the 3G data on AT&T is though.

So, which carrier do you use, and how is it? Thanks in advance if you reply!

I don't know what the problem with ATT in Rocklin and Roseville is. It has been an ongoing problem for years now and I really don't think it will be fixed anytime soon.

As for ATT in general, I have few problems overall in the Sacramento Valley. When I have problem with data service it is when I'm near a busy traffic corridor when a lot of people are commuting. I can't say I've had much of a problem between Rocklin and Marysville. The problem I do have are customer-service related issues.

I use Verizon and I've never had a dropped call or a problem. Everybody at my job complains about AT&T and their dropped calls.

I live in Whitney Ranch (Rocklin, almost Lincoln), and had no problems with Verizon when we moved in 2010. But because part of my family had already transferred to Sprint (Verizon was miserable where we lived in Las Vegas), we all switched to Sprint by the end of 2010. BIG MISTAKE. Since a year ago, Verizon's rolled out LTE (4g), and our neighbors say speeds and reception are excellent in our neighborhood. Sprint's WiMax 4g doesn't reach most of Rocklin. Only when we drive south/west of Blue Oaks/CA65 does 4g come in for Sprint. I even wish for our original 3g connection on Verizon back when we first moved here. So far, I haven't met anyone who has T-Mobile in our area..so I can't give you an answer. Friends of ours who have AT&T don't seem to complain much, but then again, most of them are original iPhone users who wouldn't consider another carrier or device.

AT&T, no problems here or in other states. People can be whiners these days.

AT&T with an iPhone. No problems anywhere around Sac, except when I was in the basement of a building which used to be a bank vault.
