Default Folsom to Grass Valley or Yuba City - Shorter?

This will NOT be a daily commute. I have a choice of two offices for a commute 2-3x per month. From Folsom, is it quicker to to get to Yuba City or Grass Valley. They are roughly the same distance in miles, but I am more interested in traffic on the (65 to 70 to 20) to Yuba City or (193 to 49 to 20) to Grass Valley. I was told it would be about a one hour drive to either site. Is this true? (I'd be leaving Folsom at 7am and returning around 3pm)

Yikes - that's ugly -

I'd say Grass Valley - cuz you can always take side streets up to Roseville and then go north to Grass Valley

The drive to Yuba City would be faster even though the distance is the same. Depending on the time you would be traveling, you can take more major roads/freeways to Yuba City. Although it looks on a map like Highway 49 is shorter, the highway is two lanes for much of the way and very twisty/turny. But maybe someone on the Forum will have a great way to get to Grass Valley. I would save that drive for the weekend and enjoy the scenery.

Default Yuba City vs. Grass Valley

Yuba City is an easier commute, but is not as "quaint" and scenic as Grass Valley/Nevada City. (I previously managed a bank in Nevada City and commuted up from Chico--79 miles one-way!) Other than the 2-lane roadway mentioned in another post, you may encounter a bit of snow at times in Winter commuting to GV. Good luck on your choice.
