Is it possible to take mass transit between Rocklin (or vicinity) and the San Mateo Event Center? Is there an online trip planner we can refer to?

In looking at the Event Center website, we can see different options going in to the Center but just can't figure out how to tie them together with transit from Sacramento area.

We're trying to make plans to go to the San Francisco Flower & Garden Show in late March. We'd rather not drive and we need to be able to go over and come back in the same day.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

1. Amtrak Capitol Corridor train from Rocklin to Richmond
2. BART from Richmond to Millbrae
3. Caltrain from Millbrae to Hillsdale
4. Walk less than a mile to Event Center

Round trip will eat up most of the day, so you might as well drive.

For future reference, maps.google.com's transit directions are usually really good. Click the little train icon next to the car under "get directions".

Best bet would be to take the Capitol Corridor Amtrak from Rocklin to Emeryville, and the Amtrak bus to Caltrain in San Francisco, then Caltrain to San Mateo, but I'm not sure how close that is to your destination, and theree are only a couple of early morning Cap Corridor trains through Rocklin, and it's still going to take 4-5 hours.

3 hours 16 minutes is the fastest one-way trip I could find on transit. FYI - if you're concerned about San Francisco traffic, you can down 680 in the east bay and likely have minimal traffic. Drive time is a little more than 2 hours.

Thanks so much, everyone. Looks like public transportation is out for this adventure anyway. Too bad. And a special thanks too for alternative suggestions. We hadn't remembered the transit option feature on Google Maps. And, since public transport is out, the suggestion to take 680 is especially helpful. We're new to the area and still trying to find our way around. You've been a big help.
