Where is the Russian food in Walmart? I went over there looking for it just to see what WalMart's idea of Russian food is.

I heard several of the tenants have been told to leave, and the rumor is the end game is getting chain stores in there.

The WalMart I go to is primarily staffed by Russians, and I've never seen any other foods than the normal stuff that all the WalMarts sell. I don't think they have any choice in the matter.

I haven't yet driven by the strip mall across the street from Town & Country that I mentioned earlier, but per Google, the Slavic Community Center is there, and two coin stores. Don't know what else. When I was growing up, there was a movie theater there, with a huge totem pole outside, I guess to go along with the theme of Town & Country. The original Town & Country had glass display areas containing Indian artifacts between each store.

In the one in West Sac, the food section is right at the left from the entrance. The Russian food is in the 3rd or 4th aisle, at the left end. It's just a couple of shelves.

The food is sort of original, imported from Russia, Ukraine. or Latvia, with Cyrillic on packages. Some is imported by a company from Brooklyn, shamelessly using one of the Russian brand names, including look-alike font of the logo (Красный Октябрь).

I haven't seen it in any other Walmart, for sure.

I was just kidding above. I'm 3rd generation. I do think the generalization is truer for the newer immigrants.
