Traffic - the Intersection of Douglas & Sunrise

Oh, and the intersection at Sunrise and Douglas is probably the most annoying thing of all. It's been about two years now of it being torn up, paved, torn up again, paved, etc. Looks like the worst is behind us but now they say an underground utility problem is going to delay completion of the intersection until 'Fall 2007' which probably means early 2008. It's been about 2 full months now since I've seen any construction activity at the intersection whatsoever. Looks like the road crews are focusing on Sunrise (south of Douglas) because from Douglas to Keifer the whole road looks to be about 90% complete. Once the intersection is completed then I won't have any complaints about the traffic at all.

Finally, some solid information on when this Safeway shopping center is going to FINALLY be built. I'm still looking for info on the Raley's shopping center across the street but this is a very good start. From the Rancho Cordova City website they had a list of current projects.

One of the projects was the Anatolia development and they had a map of all the different subdivisions (City of Rancho Cordova : Current City Projects Map).

The builder of this shopping center is listed as Donahue Schriber Company (Donahue Schriber) and they have some great info on the shopping center. From this link just look at the Sunridge Plaza development half way down the page. It says the Safeway will open in Fall 2008. It also says Bank of America and a dentist's office are the other current tenants.

I'll try to find more info on the Raley's shopping center also but I really couldn't care less which one opens first. I live in Mather so this will be less than two mile from my house. The other nearest shopping center is 7 to 9 miles away. Might not seem like much but it seems like it when you're only going for milk or something simple.
