Default Question about an area in Natomas

Hello I have a question. My girlfriend, who is staying with a friend, is moving into a house in South Natomas and I am concerned about the area she is living in.

She will be living near Garden Valley Park I think off Turnstone Drive and MapleGrove. Does anyone know anything about the area and how worried I should be about her? I have seen pictures of the neighborhood she
's living in and that part seems fine, but I also have heard many of the surrounding areas are quite bad.

Any information on the area would be quite appreciated and hopefully can qualm some of my fears. Previously she lived off Fruitridge off Sacramento near the Fox 40 station, so maybe a comparison on the two areas would help too.

I've been through that area but I don't live there so I cannot comment on the day to day living. However, if you are worried about crime in the area, go to CrimeView Community Incident Map for the sacramento sheriff's office and type in the address. It will show the report crimes in a radius around the home. I hope this helps.

The neighborhood in S. Natomas isn't great but neither was her old neighborhood off Fruitridge either. I am not sure that her housing options in S. Natomas are somehow either significantly better or worse by moving to S. Natomas.

I know South Natomas isn't that great but I know certain neighborhoods are fine, which is why I am trying to find out if that one area she lives in is the same, better or worse then her old neighborhood.

Well from that link it shows the new area has less reported crime, so I guess maybe it's a bit better

shelato, I have a question for you. The two areas I have talked about, have you been in those areas for a significant amount of time or are you just stating based off what you have heard? Since based of the crime thing the surrounding crime area is a lot better compared to her surrounding areas, but yet it seems like that may not be true and I just wonder why that is.

I just ask since first hand experience sometimes gives a better look into to an area while if you only base it off what you have heard can be blown out of proportion. I know this firsthand since I grew up in Antioch and didn't move until 3 years ago. The place got a terrible rep; however, while I lived there is wasn't bad in my area since it was more of a family neighborhood, but the surrounding areas were bad. That is kind of what I wonder about the neighborhood.
