I'm finding it a little confusing to figure out what are actually temps here... Is this just a heat index comparison?

In any case, it'll be interesting to see if Sac breaks 110f this week. My Google forecast just got even hotter with three days predicted above 110 and multiple nights bottoming out in the upper 70s. Don't see that too often.

Google forecast keeps intensifying... now showing Monday at 112, Tuesday at 115, and Wednesday at 112. I imagine that must be flirting with all-time record highs... If it comes to fruition. Interesting!

Being lower than Phoenix and Austin means we are less horrible, not "great".

We are not just better than Phoenix and Austin, we are better than 3/4 or more of the rest of country.

We so often measure our entire summer experience by 2, 3, 7 days of a summer heat wave, and ignore all the other GREAT days.

Folks wait all year long to post in this thread during the inevitable August heat wave and ignore the rest of months and months of GREAT weather.

And, we act like, the rest of the country, doesn't have hot August heat waves.

In the southwest, like Texas, they CAN'T drive just an hour away to much cooler weather during a heat wave, but we can. Ironically, the very reason that we have Cool coastal weather so close makes us more critical of our weather instead of appreciating how GREAT it actually is MOST OF THE TIME.

In Texas, its HOT AND HUMID everywhere, no escape, you can drive 300-400 miles in every direction and its still hot and humid; ironically, they complain less about their summer weather than we do.

This heatwave will be historic. keep tabs if you have the time, chim.

Fresno hit 107, but clouds and dry air made the day tolerable.

Wasn't expecting this

Late afternoon

Same point - being less awful than Texas doesn't = great. Nor does being "close" to cooler weather (an hour without traffic but there's always traffic). Nor does Sacramento's persistently terrible air quality = great. Get real.

Your wrong again, Sacramento has not had a single air quality day in the unhealthy range to date this year.

It's been awhile since we've had a pretty bad heat wave, stay cool and comfortable.
