I still find it so interesting.

I was never bored in Sacramento.

But I'm bored sh*tless in Seattle - go figure. (actually I think it's because it's so damn cold here all the time I don't leave my house much)

I live in Stockton (crappy city), so trust me, Sacramento is a nice place to be. Yes, there are nicer places, but Sacramento is fun. Nice buildings, good people, things to do and walking around Old Sacramento is fun.

Well, I was entirely too negative in my last post. The Sacramento area is a comfortable place to live. Not too much excitement or drama. I really do love the weather here. I just have a real problem with the (lack of) city leadership. I think downtown and the riverfront could be SO much more with ANY form of vision from that small-thinking city council and mayor.

CityGirl, sorry to hear about being bored /sh*tless in Seattle!/ Yep, I have much of my family living on the Puget Sound and the place can really put you in a funk through the long, dreary winter. Might have to get a fancy coffee drink and visit some music clubs. I used to become claustrophobic up there from the low clouds, slow traffic, rain and trees. I didn't like it. The only place I felt somewhat normal was on a storm-tossed ferry boat out in the open.

Please tell me why you like El Dorado HIlls. I'm considering a move to that area.

I love the winters in Sacramento. If it just snowed a little, the winters would be perfect. Not too cold, usually lots of rain, fog is nice. Sacramento never seems to get the gale-force winds of the Pacific Northwest, never gets snowed in, no ice storms, and the foothills turn emerald green.

Moovin,

El Dorado Hills is a nice community if you like upper scale and don't want an area that is rural. The community is clean, safer than most, and has finally attracted good restaurants and shops. Target just opened, but most of the other stores are not chains. There are lots of small restaurants to choose from, theaters, good bus system into Sacramento for commuters, and if you want to buy a Mercedes or have one serviced, you are in luck.

The schools in EDH are excellent, and the community is pretty family oriented. There's a nice golf course, nice grocery stores (Nugget Market is just opening). The ED Community Services District operates many sports leagues for both children and adults. The main bad point for me is that drivers are pretty rude, but that is true for most drivers in and around Sacramento.
