Hoping you guys can share what the best service provider is in the area.

I've been with Sprint for the past 5 years or so and it was fine in Florida, but every other call gets dropped here and I can't do my work. 99% of my use is in UCDMC / East Sac.

Highly considering T-Mobile because of the price and free international data but not sure about signal quality, at this point I'll be willing to fork over a lot more $/month for a better signal.

I'm with Verizon and have never had a dropped call. I considered T-Mobile but their coverage didn't seem as good.

I posted a thread like this a few months back. Everyone said to just go with Verizon. Took that advice and never looked back. My wife have Sprint and God, I hate her data plan. I need my data plan for business so I needed something that is dependable and fast. Once in a awhile, I try to use Sprint and it just drives me crazy. What's the point of having unlimited data when you can never get online? I believe my Verizon call is also superior too. Now, they do cost more and definitely aren't the best bang for the buck but it's worth it.

I'm fine T-Mobile and it's completely 100% fine. It's cheap, the LTE is fast in the city, and I'm about to save a fortune and a ton of heartache when I travel abroad next month.

Hey, thanks! Ireland, Scotland, Germany, and leaving through Belgium. Kind of roundabout, but we have people to see in the Scotland and Germany, so that's how it shook out. Should be tons of fun.

This is always a fun topic. We are constantly bombarded with commercials and advertisements where each major carrier proclaims to have the "best" nationwide coverage with the fastest LTE data speeds. This is an obvious marketing tool and a necessary one because to not make this claim would surely hurt subscriber growth and give direct competitors an edge. However every major carrier out there has certain areas that may lack coverage and performance, but how often that is and to what degree is what you should really be concerned with.

I have worked in the field of deploying wireless networks and offer a bit more info than the average joe who goes off what commercials tell him. First, any carrier's network performance can vary over a relatively short distance due to a wide variety of factors. Examples of this would be a change in topography (hill, valley), trees or other obstructions, cell site reaching capacity during peak usage hours or a large event in the local vicinity, or the inability for the signal to penetrate through certain building materials. Historically and still to the present day Verizon has the largest number of cell sites and what is generally recognized as the largest coverage as a whole, followed by At&t, Sprint, then T-mo. Obviously when you get down to local areas that list doesn't rule all, as it's just a guide. Best bet is to talk to people and see who has great performance near where you want that coverage.

THIS. Sprint is cheaper, but you do get what you pay for....

I had T-Mobile the entire time I lived in Sac and had no problem anywhere in the area. Then I moved to Palm Springs which has a mountain just a couple blocks from downtown, and couldn't get a signal to save my life. I switched to AT&T, and have had them ever since. No problems anyplace I've lived since, with AT&T.

Thats too bad the original poster says Sprint sucks in Sac. I live in Woodland and commute to Rancho Cordova. My wife is working in the Woodland/Davis area and I am/was considering Republic Wireless which has great rates however runs on the SPRINT network! We have Consumer Cellular which has cut down our phone bill by about $40-50 from ATT, however I am always looking for better deals.

BTW anyone have Republic Wireless in the SAC/Yolo County and how do you like it??????

THANKS and Good luck OP
