The Sacramento Gun Club has an outstanding range on the Michigan Bar/Ione Rd. They even have a 1000 yard range. A friend of mine competes in long rifle contests, it's pretty wild.
I have nothing else to offer on the rest of your post. Sorry

what info are you looking for specifically? There is way to much to tell you about a city like sacramento and it's surrounding areas without some specifics. Davis is just down the freeway from Sacramento, only a few miles. He attending UCDavis?

Sacramento is pretty cool. Having recently relocated from Dallas, TX I have pretty low standards but I like it. Costs more, but you get what you pay for. People are pretty much the same everywhere IMO. Anywhere you go has its *******s, rednecks, stuck up people, etc. Its really cool being somewhat in the middle. You got Tahoe on one side, SF on the other. You couldnt pay me to go back to Texas, however being young and curious Im not done moving around. Ive been considering Seattle since I want to be in a real city, and SF is ridiculous as far as rent. If I ended up staying here the rest of my life though I dont think I would regret it.
