You realize that 5 & 99 have a speed limit of 65-70, right?

I've never been stopped for 1 mph over the speed limit, 10 yes, 25+ definitely.

I should have used quotes for the copy/pasta. In the last paragraph, they are just referencing #2 as an example:

2. 22349(b) VC — 55 mile per hour speed limit.

But yeah, I know about the speed limits. I'm usually hovering 75 mph on I-5. On 99 I never get to go that fast because of traffic.

On most freeways (55 mph and over) I have not been pulled over for up to 9 mph over the speed limit. I have tested this on the 261 toll road. There is often a CHP officer at the bottom of the grade on 261. I have gone 74 mph (65 zone) and never been pulled over. I have seen people go slightly faster past me and get pulled over...

I agree they have grounds to pull you over once you exceed the posted limit, but that is extremely rare.

And yes, I have seen a Prius exceed 80. But that's like seeing Haley's Comet...

Of course they can, but many Prius drivers don't. The #1 Left Lane Hog I see is a Prius, every day.
