Are there any city buses that go from Sacramento to Auburn? I will also have a bike just wondering if they also have bike racks. Taking Amtrak to Sacramento...trying to get to Auburn.

Amtrak runs a connecting bus from the Sacramento stop to Auburn. If you call them you can add the bus to your ticket.

@littlesquirrrel. There is a better option than Amtrak. Placer County Transit (PCT) and Placer Commuter Express (PCE) run service between Sacramento and Auburn. PCT's Auburn to Light Rail (Watt/I-80) runs more frequent service during the day in both directions. Whereas PCE's service to Auburn runs in the late afternoon/early evenings. And yes, there are bike racks available. Here are the links to Placer County Transit services:

The Placer Commuter Express might work, but it only runs during commuter hours and in commuter directions--unless they're arriving in Sacramento between about 4 and 5 PM and returning the next morning between about 5:30-6:30 AM, the commuter bus isn't very useful.

PCT is just unwieldy. The closest PCT comes to the Sacramento Amtrak station is the Light Rail station at Watt/I-80, and reaching that will mean buying an all-day pass at the Sacramento Valley station, switching from Gold Line to Blue Line at 7th & K (and walking 2 blocks to the Blue Line station) and then taking the Blue Line to Watt/I-80, loading the bike onto 2 different trains.

Or they can buy the bus ticket to Auburn via Amtrak and walk from the train to the bus stop, about 500 feet.

littleskwirl, you should get in the habit of using google. A search on google.com would have given you the answers you got here (and at least one that hasn't been mentioned yet).

Well isn't that special.

Why didn't you share that additional answer instead of just saying "look it up"?

Half the point of these boards is to get locals' perspective of the various options which Google just can't provide. Yeah, it'll tell you that bus X will take you from A to Z, but it won't tell you (as people can here) that the bus sucks, makes 300 stops, and is always packed so don't even think of taking luggage on it. (no facts in that statement - just free-associating to make a point).

Literally everybody knows how to use Google. If they came here, they probably found the site via Google and were looking for first hand perspective.
