All in your head. Machines are controlled by an RNG.

That's what I thought but there's no way it's truly random. Maybe the the rng is programed to spit out better combinations certain times and days of the week, and in that sense it is random.

I'm not sure there are regulations for how machines operate in Indian Casinos & I don't think they have to report hold percentage averages like they do in Nevada.

When I lived in Reno I had a friend who worked for IGT. She told me that slot machines have three settings, player, neutral or house. She said when they are sent to the Casino they are set for 'player' and offer you the best chance of winning. After they are on the floor for about 3 weeks they are set to either neutral or house. House of course gives the casino the best odds. I also knew a guy who worked for Nevada Gaming commission, and he said that to change the programming on a slot machine the Casino has to notify the commission, but when I asked him what needs to be done if a machine is delivered with three built in programs and they want to switch from one program already in the machine to another I didn't get a very good answer as to whether or not the gaming commission has to be notified.

That's true but that does not mean that the probability of win/loss can't be programmed into the machine.

Tahoe maybe a better choice. Lots of outdoor things to do and lots of casinos for job.

Yes, but they cannot be reprogrammed on the fly. The gaming commisson must be notified and the EPROM chip must be physically changed. They are not programmed to run extra or less winning combinations for different times of the day.

There are new slots being developed with "server-side" implementation of this concept, but again the gaming commission would need to be notified of the changes, so its not as simple as "flipping a switch".

And I never said they could 'flip a switch several times a day', but what do you think about the scenario I described, where a machine is delivered with three programs on the EPROM?, do they have to notify the gaming commission before they switch to another program on the same EPROM, because an IGT employee told me they don't. And does the law regarding that differ between Nevada Casinos and Indian Tribal Casinos?

I'm not trying to argue with you, I would like to get more information on these issues because I find it interesting.
