So on the eve of submitting the bid to the MLS, there is a beef between ownership, investors, and the team. Now the sports world is writing off MLS in Sac as dead in the water.

Once again the cowtown antics ruin something that really could have helped the area. Sacramento is literally the largest undeserved sports market and will now remain that way. What is wrong with people? Can Sac get anything done with out embarrassing itself?

Light rail, street car, whole foods, now this. With out KJ's leadership, Sac is now on the decline in terms of amenities.

Yes it's a debacle and hopefully it gets cleared up soon, but wtf does this debacle have anything to do with being a cowtown or cowtown antics? Miami's MLS situation has been a complete debacle for years now, is Miami also a cowtown?

The OP's post is just a poor attempt at trolling but the Republic issue doesn't really fit your crafted narrative of Sac as a cowtown in decline.

The actual people in Sacramento put Republic FC on the map through an exceptional amount of continued support for the local team. Republic FC teamed up with big wig Nagle who is trying to pull a fast one on them as well as Sacramento in the interest of $. Unfortunately for him he misjudged Sacramento's fan base because it seems that the majority of people in the area who follow this don't want MLS if its not the Republics name on it.

I personally would like to see MLS here but not with a guy running shady tactics like this not to mention Meg Whitman. She seems to be a precursor to toxic business ventures. I personally would like to see the bid fall through with this drama, have the Republic continue as they have been until the next round of expansion and then bid with a different and hopefully more well-intentioned ownership group.

What is MLS? I only know it as Multiple Listing Service, relating to real estate.

Heck, I don't even know what that is if it's not related to the above. Bet I'm not the only one. Can't be the end of the world as we know it, then.

And what is Republic FC? I thought facebook? No.... Republic of what?

At any rate, my point being that whatever you think is some obvious thing here....ain't obvious or important to everyone.

The people are acting like Amatuers. Having a fued on the eve of this makes them look like yokels. Like the trashy uncle who brings his family to the big thanksgiving dinner, and then they all fight before the turkey gets carved..

Sacramento is the largest region with 3 teams or less. It doesn't have to be like this. But Sac always does this minor league stuff and has trouble stepping up.

Jeez...A little Googling would have answered all your Q's.

True, and I did. My point was just that the OP finds this to be something that would be important to everyone, and that everyone would know what he's talking about - and that's not the case.

Whereas if it was the NFL, everyone would know what that was.

Soccer is just not big here. Don't know why anyone would be shocked that it's not.

Heck, there's a soccer league in San Jose. Anybody know the name of the team? I only know, because I was a property manager in Santa Clara, and had an applicant who was a soccer player. He gave me a sweatshirt.

If bringing soccer to Sacramento was going to be a big money-maker, it would get done.

Oh...got it. Soccer & Basketball do nothing for me either

We have ludicrous taxation levels, immigration problems, unemployment problems despite there being enough jobs, crime, and roads which have needed to be addressed since the 60s it seems, and people want to bicker over a new MLS team.

Californians and their priorities.

Turns out none of this is true. I'm sure OP will be contrite and apologetic for being so wrong.

Actually I kinda feel bad that anyone would care enough to post such things. Sports teams aren't amenities, they are a tax both literal and figurative. Soap operas for people uninvested in their own lives.
