People who describe any season in Sacramento as rainy or wet have never lived anywhere "rainy" or "wet". An average of what 29 days of rain out of 92 days in December, January and February? It didn't rain for 3 weeks straight this February. It's no Phoenix but come on. Either your frame of reference or your perception is skewed.

We had 10 straight days of dry sunny days in the 70's in February!!!!!

Other than a handful of places where else do you get that in the US?

It's not perfect SoCal weather, agreed. But it's a huge upgrade on average from anywhere in Florida or Louisiana for that matter.

But yeah it does cool off dramatically some evenings.

Yeah it's 2 hours realistically to the ski resorts. But if you are a skier then that is really close! There are not that many places you can live in a city and be that close to world class skiing! And summers in Tahoe are amazing if you are in any way into mountain/lake/forests.
I am a California native and still haven't adjusted to the extremely low humidity in Sacramento.

Also, Tahoe (even during the summer) features 35-40 degree nights. Not fun when you're camping in a tent and have to get up and get some icy cold water! (That's why I don't like camping in the mountains).

For those that moved to CA from FL. Is there a noticeable difference in the overall feel of living in Sacramento. Culturally, people wise. Or is it pretty much feel the same as living in Fl. I find Fla to be a state unto itself. Overcrowded, way to transient. Like living in a giant amusement park, but not really a lot of overall diversity. Many communities I rarely hear anything but Spanish spoken. Such as my city near Tampa and Orlando. There is a tremendous amount of crime here. I couldn't describe how much so. It doesn't feel safe any longer at all. There isn't an overall friendly feel here.

So has living in Sacramento improved any ex Floridians Quality of Life? Thanks

California and Florida are both transient states with each their own fair share of weirdos but imo, Florida has alot more suspiciously-friendly-running-from-the-law-probably-living-some-double-life type weirdos. California has more recycled-hippy-moved-here-from-bum****-town-on-the-east-coast-to-reinvent-myself type weirdos.

Lived in Sacramento 2 years now and I never felt truly unsafe. Florida on the other hand...

Florida has more cubans. California has more mexicans. There are alot more asians here than in FL so you'll hear more than just Spanish. It's pretty diverse overall.
