Commute from Roseville to Folsom
How long do you think the daily commute would be from roseville to folsom in the am and back in the pm? Google estimates about 30 minutes. I was just wondering if anyone had any real world estimates.

Depending on the EXACT time of day (sacramento traffic seems to be really dependent on the time) it could be anywhere from a half an hour to 50 minutes. If you are expecting to commute between the hours of 7:30-8:30 am and 4:30-6:00 pm, you should expect about 45-50 minutes of traffic.
The best way to go is to leave a little early, and avoid Sunrise at ALL COSTS!!!!

You aren't taking a freeway right?
I think after w hile - when you get the hang of it - it could be 30 minutes - but definately (depending on time) think 45 to 60

yeah i think the easiest way would be to take douglas to hazel to folsom blvd. Hazel looks like it gets pretty backed up after work, but I think thats only for the hazel bridge and afterwards its probably smooth sailing.

If you are going all the way over to hazel why not cross into Folsom using the Folsom/Auburn Rd?

For 6 weeks I was going from Roseville (extreme western boundary) to Rancho Cordova (Zinfandel), similar to a Folsom commute. My morning hours were flexible, so as long as I was leaving after 9AM or so, it was taking me about 40 minutes via Sunrise. Coming back home definitely would take close to an hour at prime commute time.
Agree with CityGirl...Folsom/Auburn Rd is a nicer drive than Hazel. I had a job interview in Folsom once, and coming back via Folsom/Auburn at 5pm took me about 45 minutes.

ok im going to do a test run today from folsom to the fiddymint farms area just to see if I could take doing that commute everyday. Sounds like a good commute for a hybrid . I wonder if I can negotiate that into the house offer.
