moving to Placerville from NYC-any advice on car shipping
Hi-We are moving from Brooklyn, NY to Placerville this summer and have a car to ship. Does anyone have any recommendations for either a truck hauler or a drive-away car company? Thanks alot for any input you may have.

Hi, we're moving as well, I did lots of research on car transport and found what I think is a very reputable company. If you'd like I'll pm you the name.

InterCity is the only to go with. I'll be shipping 3 cars with them very soon. Very reputable.

Never believe the time frame they give you, never ever ever! Plan to add at least a few days to their "estimated delivery date". It is rare that they actually make it in time.

There are sites where you can check not only the licenses of the shipping company but their delivery times as well. It is best to be as flexible as you can, allow for 7-14 day time difference for the actual transport time if you're going cross country. Try and schedule your pick up with someone who gives you a realistic time frame. What I have learned is that most of the brokers put your car up on a national database where trucking companies look and see where you are and where you want to go. That's why price is so important, if someone offers you an extremely low price, think twice about it! It will make a difference in when your car gets picked up. There are averages also listed on the review sites as far as price goes. Pick a company that has a physical office address that you have access to, not just some random 800 number. Ask about their delivery pick up date range, is it 3 days? 7 days? etc It all comes down to who you feel comfortable with and trust.

Glad you made it to Placerville. Welcome to the Western Slope! What area of Placerville will you be moving to?
