Default Trails in Rocklin

I'm searching the City of Rocklin and Placer County websites, and I can't find anything regarding trail systems around Rocklin. I like to run and bike, and some nice trails would definitely be preferable to busy streets. Anyone have insight in this area? Any feedback would be great.

Have you already settled on Rocklin? Roseville's probably got a more established network of bicycling and running trails (even if just by virtue of being a bigger city).

There are a few short routes by Rocklin High and across from Valley View Elementary. Other than that, I use the Springview access in Rocklin to hook on the trails in Roseville. It would be great if Rocklin would spend more time on trails and map them out. Maybe when the word budget is no longer a bad word...

I think the best bet for hiking/running trail is the huge trail system behind Sierra College. It's the schools cross country course and is used by many schools, both college and high school in Northern California. They took a chunk out of it a few years ago when they built the new parking lots for the stadium but the largest loop in the system is probably still in the 2 mile range. To access it park in the second parking lot north of the stadium on Sierra College Blvd. This will be the lot that it furthest from the stadium not the one that is right next to the stadium. It'll cost you a buck to park there but once you do just turn toward the trees at the edge of the parking lot and you'll find the trail.

Click on the satellite view and zoom in on the the second parking lot north of the stadium. You'll see the start of the loop in the upper right hand corner of the parking lot. sierra college - Google Maps
