I've been renting in Arden area for almost two years now and it's a decent neighborhood. There are some pretty ghetto pockets and some pretty decent pockets. Lots of sorta working class surburbia. It's a nice enough neighborhood that we're about to move into a house were buying nearby. It's not in the flood plain (and who cares if it is as long as you're renting?).

But it's almost certainly not the place to live if you're commuting to Stockton. Could routinely be an hour each way depending on time of day. In fact, I don't know if I'd want to make that commute from anywhere in Sac.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, Guerva. You're right that it's too far from Stockton! I don't know what I was thinking. :-P

Yeah, it's a long drive. We're actually hoping to get a place in Elk Grove if possible. My fiance said that apparently several people in the office he will work in commute from Sac. Maybe he can join a carpool or something!
