Back to school shopping - Moms! Help!
Finally we arrived to Sacramento five days ago! Suddenly we've found School Year is about to begin! August 11! My teenager daughter is stressed completely (we used to start studying in first week of September in Toronto)
So, we have to shop somewhere for school gear - backpack, clothes..
We went today to the closest mall - Galleria (Roseville). We didn't buy anything except few teeshirts from A&F. but we need back pack, cloths, shoes...
Sacramento Moms! Help me please to find the stores with good choice of backpacks, teens clothes (we don't need an uniform)!
And if somebody could tell me what brands are COOL for 13-15 years old girls, we haven't seen so much kids since we came and couldn't figure out the situation. Or it depends from school and we have to start school year to see local fashion.
Does somebody knows such a thing as fashion outlet area - where you can find good deals from designer clothes brands?

What does she like? I ALWAYS hit Mervyn's first - then Kohl's those are the best affordable places for jeans, backpacks, shoes etc
Then here's a hidden secret for teens- there is a consignment store near Arden called Crossroads, VERY hip clothes (some shoes) all CHEAP - let her go wild.
Then hit Folsom outlets - not much there for me but maybe for teens

Thank you Beth and CityGirl!
I'll definitely try those places!
My girl is already stressed about her newbie status and she doesn't like to be out of the main stream (fashion). In her previous elementary school in Toronto everybody was obsessed with fashion, even boys - if you are not wearing A&B, Aritzia, Aeropostale, Puma shoes or at least Hollister - you have zero chance to became a "Popular". some girls used Aritzia bags instead of backpacks...Too bad we don't know anybody from 100 miles radius ... that's ok... we love hot and dry air and sun right above over heads!

I second Crossroads; there is also one in Roseville if you happen to go to the Galleria.
Tilly's, Aeropostale, A&E, and Anchor Blue are in Natomas...off of Truxel, not sure of the name of the shopping area, though. There's also an Old Navy in the area as well.

That's even great information for me. We are in the process of moving up to Lincoln. From L.A. My wife and daughters will leave this weekend. I will follow in a few weeks. My 12 year old is also stressed. Also, being the new one she is worried about fitting in. The stores you all mentioned will be a plus. Now we will know some places to shop for her.
