Based on your requirements, your best choices are Davis and Arden park. Davis got the best schools, short commute to Natomas.

Arden Park is awesome and probably the best choice. I love Fair Oaks and love living here, but I'm not sure what the commute to Natomas is.

Try Rosemont. It's kinda low key out there and its like 20 minutes from Natomas, but with traffic in the morning maybe add on another 20. Try Roseville.

EDH has some nice homes, but the commute would be longer than 45 minutes and I definitely would not buy in Serrano. I agree that Arden Park is a fabulous area!

Did someone actually say Rosemont??? If a person has 1M for a house, I'm pretty sure they would NOT be looking at a community like Rosemont. No offense to the good people of Rosemont, but it's housing is for the "affordability"

What about getting a home along the Sacramento River, maybe something off the garden highway?

Totally agree with City Girl. Rosemont is NOT a 1 million dollar neighborhood.
LOVE the Garden Highway idea -- although I don't know what kind of social life a mom and kids would have out there. I remember those homes being secluded/isolated. Maybe I'm wrong. But they're sprawling homes and they obviously want privacy.
LOVE the Granite Bay idea a whole lot. Beautiful, nice area. Great homes, great schools, family area.
Back to Arden Park. You ought to check it out. It's very nice, friendly, close to everything. AWESOME schools -- actually the best. The elementarys are wonderful and the high school is one of our top rated.
We really like Fair Oaks. It's very high end -- way over our heads. (Not sure how I got in!!)

Arden Park is off 50 at Watt. It's an older neighborhood with old trees -- and fabulous schools.
Some of the little homes are coming down and larger homes are going up. But it's retained wonderful character. I wish we had bought there.

I love looking at homes. What is the zip code for that area? What schools are in that area as well. We bought already and are happy.
